Lake Alfred Historical Society Publishes Cookbook
to Benefit Their Historical Museum
The Lake Alfred Historical Society is announcing the arrival of its new, one-of-a-kind cookbook, Recipes & Remembrances. Printed by Morris Press Cookbooks, profits will benefit the Lake Alfred Historical Museum. Members of the historical society, friends and family have compiled their tastiest recipes into a single book that will be treasured for generations to come. This mouth-watering cookbook contains 111 recipes - everything you need from appetizers to desserts. Each recipe includes the contributor’s name, so it's easy to find the recipes of friends and loved ones.
The cookbook is a mix of both new recipes and “vintage” recipes. These vintage recipes reflect some of Lake Alfred’s classic family recipes, including Mary Lang’s Grapefruit Pie and Mary Arbuthnot’s Favorite Orange Cake. Also included is the Original Girl Scout Cookie recipe, submitted by Lake Alfred resident and former Executive Director of the Heart of Florida Girl Scout Council, Lenore “Gundy” Costello.
Cookbooks are available at the Lake Alfred Historical Museum and Lang Sun Country Grove gift shop. You may also reserve a copy for pick-up by calling Connie White at 863-224-2792 or by email at LakeAlfredHistoricalMuseum@gmail.com.
